Saw this little beetle on my Oleander.
About 1cm long and a lovely petrol blue (colour does not show up well in the photo though).

Don't know, but do know that there over a million known insect species and more than one third of those are beetles!

Think it may be a Blue Mint Leaf beetle after a bit of Googling.

There were a lot of big insects that looked like beetles flying around in our garden after dark tonight. Making an awful lot of noise  like little helicopters. What could they be?

    Possibly May Bugs (Cockchafer)?

Almost certainly, it's that time of year again, little flying tanks.

    Did it taste minty?
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Hmm the romance certainly isn't dead in my garden.  Looks like they had a little meal first too 😳

At junior school they'd have told us they were playing piggybacks :)

Burtsnest. They look like red lily beetles. They will eat the lily flower buds. Need to get them off your lilies.
