Pests from plant purchase

Hi everyone I'd be grateful if anyone could advise me on the best way to get rid of, or reduce damage I have spotted by an unknown pest in my garden, which I first spotted after purchasing a few plants from a garden centre last year, Thank You

Looks like a caterpillar has been feasting :-)
Try having a look under the leaves and and along stem as it may still be there, hiding. I go out with a torch at night too, and you'd be amazed what is visible then! Just pick'em off and leave them for the birds.

Take a picture and somebody might even be able to tell you which caterpillar you've got!

Hi all, I have failed to spot the little critter causing damage to this hydrangea, any advice appreciated-is it a caterpillar? I think this bug originated from a penstemon I bought at a local plant nursery, Thank You in anticipation, Sylvia
