Ceanothus - which is the darkest and bluest?
in Plants
Just that, really!
I've seen many varieties that are a more muted and powdery blue, but once saw a very small leaved type, with the most intense blue flowers ever. The foliage was also particularly dark, glossy green. It was stunning.
No idea what it was called though, as it was in a park!
I'm about to start buying some new plants, for my new garden and would love to track down this variety of ceanothus, if anybody knows...thanks.

I looked for that special 'blue' for a long time until I found it

Like you I'd seen a really stand-out blue somewhere and walking around a GC one day something blue caught my eye (blue is my fave colour) and I realised it was the Ceanothus I'd seen a while ago so bought it.
So many of the pale blue ones look grey from a distance - not this one

I'll have a look, next time I'm in a GC! Thanks.
The other ceanothus mentioned also look very blue too...
Happy hunting!
