Just pick them off is the best way.

Some report success by spraying the plants with neem oil or garlic solution as a preventative measure.  However, once they have already arrived, vigilance and hand removal is the only effective treatment in my experience, but the sprays may stop more arriving.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Somebody on the forum suggested putting something(i can't remember what, but I'm sure you could improvise😉) under them before you go for them or else they lie on their backs on the soil abe you can can't see them.

I picked some sort of orgy off mine yesterday and I wish I'd have photographed it. There was 3 together 😂
  • Thanks all, the lily beetle is bright red, can't miss it, though it does go under the leaves.
    I keep looking and picking.

You can miss them if they fall into the soil, they lay on their backs and very difficulty to see.

I just recycle them when I catch them. I check under the leaves most days as it is easy to miss one then they have laid eggs

This year following the advice of a lilli dude on the great British garden revival (old episode), I have been spraying my lilies and fritillaries with garlic spray and haven’t noticed any around. Last year my Frits in particular got shredded to bits.

Ive also read on other blogs that this doesn’t work. So could just be luck! Nevertheless I plan on using this until proven wrong!
  • Sounds a harmless idea, worth a try, do you make or buy your garlic BV spray
