no germination

I grow in a large greenhouse and I just can't get my beans and peas germinated. I've tried soaking in water a few days, direct sowing in big pots, nothing works. I had problems last year, but not this bad. Will have to buy more seed.

Hop along, not sure if it due to cold weather but my beans haven't germinated either but my peas are coming up slowly. I'll also need to sow another lot and hope the warmer weather does the trick. I looked at my spring onions and they also have not taken.

my spring onions haven't germinated either, I've tried under heat and out of it. Everything is in my big greenhouse. I got all the rest of my beans and bunged them in a big tub, watered well and will see. Some signs of mangetout coming through. It's fun though, and my tomatoes and carrots are doing well. I used the carrot tape, very successful.
  • I'm having the exact same problem...I half expected it though..ie. the minute I sowed them the temperature dropped - even though they're in the greenhouse (it is unheated). The mangetout, on the other hand, are all showing through. I'll give it another week and then, if there's still no sign, I'll resow.
