What is wrong with my Amelanchier Robin Hill trees?

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me figure out what is wrong and best course of action for my trees. I have 4 Amelanchier Robin hill trees that I planted two years ago.  2 of the trees have leaves curling turning brownish on a number of beaches.
I was away for a couple weeks could they have dried? (Although we’ve had fair amount of rain and the other two are fine).  Is this a fungus issue? And if so what should I do?
thank you in advance for any advice.

They’re very close to the wall so could be in a rain shadow.
Is there a membrane under the gravel?
What is the soil like under the membrane?  Have you checked to see if the soil is dry?

Hmm maybe it is from lack of water.  I'm just surprised as didn't have any issues with dryness for the last two years with them.  Yes they are close to the wall, and additionally there are some trees higher up from neighbours, maybe have grown more to make overhang that could block some of their rain. Yes there's a membrane under the gravel (water can penetrate) but I'll check to see if the soil under is too dry.

I was most concerned this is a fungus I need to be somehow treating.
    Thank you

My newly planted amelanchier had leaf crisp I think from a few weeks of early very hot sun. We had a whack of 25oC heat and I think my plant went into shock.  Hopeful the current cool and lots of rain has evened things out.
