Newbie Chelsea chopper. Advice needed

    When I said I stripped the lower leaves, I meant the ones on the cuttings by the way: not on the mother plant!

    I have loads and loads of Astrantia now, thanks to you sending the original seeds, they’ve just taken off, I cut the first flowers off as soon as they've  finished then they come again. I love them and the slugs don’t.

    Would this work for delphiniums? Mine didn't flower last year and they are currently growing quite nicely, about 2 foot tall with signs of some buds.
    Nope! If you chop the main stem you won't get flowers.

    Odd, slugs (and/or snails) seem to be tucking into one of ours. So much so that I dug it up today and popped it in a pot in the hope that it will recover. Just in from "disposing" of slugs and, yes, there were two big ones prospecting around the spot the astrantia used to be!
