    I’ve moved the feeding station to lawn whilst I’m using up the last niger seeds, shouldn’t take long!!!

    Keep your eye on the lawn while you are using up the niger seed. If they drop and germinate it makes a terrible mess. My niger feeder is now destined for the bin. Sticking to sunflower hearts.

    @philippa smith2   I totally agree with you. I would not want to deprive the birds so am willing to accept disadvantages and initially placed the wheelbarrow underneath and what ended up in there had to be seen to be believed. If the goldfinches are happy to just have the sunflower seeds and any that are dropped are eaten by ground feeders I shall be happy. Just experimenting at the moment.
