Bird ID

I know the photos aren’t great but can anyone ID this bird? It’s been hanging round the rubble all morning and I’ve never seen it before. It’s roughly between a robin and blackbird in size, has a white rump, very buff breat feathers slightly flushed around the sides with orange/pink ish colour, black beak and flash above eye.

Thanks Steephill, that’s exactly what it is! Never seen one before!

Looked it up on RSPB and it seems it isn’t normally in these parts, so that accounts for me never seeing one! Lovely looking bird!

Very cool. It must be heading back from migration and stopped off with you for a rest. It's a late one though as some have been back up here in the breeding grounds for a good few weeks now. They love all the old quarries and mines up here.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

That made me smile as we are working on a section of the garden that is full of rubble ... perhaps it thinks it’s a quarry lol! It’s got s way to go then as we are in Hertfordshire!
