I've just discovered a pack of Hollyhock seed which I'm about to sow, on reading the packet it say's they get to 6 ft. My question is as they get that tall do they need to be staked or will they be strong enough to support themselves. I'm on a very windy area.

In a windy area , I would stake them with a bamboo cane.

Thanks fidgetbones, I've never grown them before, it will teach me to read the height and not just when to sow. I want to add some height into the boarders and thought these would do until other shrubs get bigger/taller. Thanks again.

Thanks Eglantyne, and thanks for the advice on air circulation, rust on leave and watering, will keep an eye on them. Would be nice if they get to 8 ft but the packet does say 6 ft, I expect that might be an average height time will tell.
