    I also agree with the management company.
    We Humans have a tendency to want to keep things nice and neat and tidy and be 'in control'.
    Nature is scruffy and untidy to our eyes and that is exactly what we need right now.Areas that are untouched and allowed to do their own thing creates diversity in plants and insects.

    Dock seeds and thistles are a hugely valuable food source for small birds in the autumn and winter ... dock seeds in particular are full of natural oils that help to condition the plumage so the birds keep warm and dry during the winter. 
    I understand that folk may not want too much thistledown drifting over their gardens in the breeze, but there is no reason to get rid of the docks.

    I've got plenty of docks in my garden. In the autumn you can't move for finches in there
