I have a massive helibore which was covered in double+ blooms and still has a lot. Unfortunately, they are a horrible muddy colour. If i were to name it , i would call it Miss Havisham. I'm assuming that the colour is what it is and theres nothing i can do about it. But i thought that I'd check before i put her out of my misery.
I think all the doubles look like her That one you are holding looks like an old flower? If they are really all that colour I can see why you think yuck. They are not old flowers and you missed the initial opening?
It's on the compost heap now. Root ball got stuck to the fork and i couldn't get it off. Tried sawing between the tines. Eventually OH got it off using brute force and ignorance.

I like the green flowers on the "Stinking" Hellebore and similar others, so know what you mean Jennyj.
I like green flowers too even helibores with green flowers!
