I have a massive helibore which was covered in double+ blooms and still has a lot. Unfortunately, they are a horrible muddy colour. If i were to name it , i would call it Miss Havisham.
I'm assuming that the colour is what it is and theres nothing i can do about it.
But i thought that I'd check before i put her out of my misery.
I think all the doubles look like her :D
That one you are holding looks like an old flower?
If they are really all that colour I can see why you think yuck.
They are not old flowers and you missed the initial opening?

Then she needs burning like her namesake... :D:blush:

Actually I quite like the flowers on that hellebore, but not on such a big plant.
Forget-me-nots are in full flow here - I reckon another couple of weeks until pulling-out time starts.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

Same here with Forget-me-nots. If you do, they remind you tenfold next year.

I like the green flowers on the "Stinking" Hellebore and similar others, so know what you mean Jennyj.

No they came out brown and sludgy with a hint of lilac. The camera has been VERY kind!
I like green flowers too even helibores with green flowers!

It's on the compost heap  now. Root ball got stuck to the fork and i couldn't get it off. Tried sawing between the tines. Eventually OH got it off using brute force and ignorance.
