I'm guessing that those will be expensive this is for the allotment and my philosophy regarding the allotment is to never leave anything there that you can't afford to lose, I'll check Doobies out though.
I've looked at the well known brand names which are too expensive for me and the reasonably priced ones look to be a bit hit and miss so before spending more than I want to I might try using regular hosepipe with drippers screwed into it. I'll have to get cracking because the heatwave will no doubt soon be on us LOL!
@barry island FIL bought a cheap brand for his GH and although the timer worked fine the piping system was terrible with more water exiting at the joints than the drippers
Advice on parsnips needed, 5 rows all up nicely and I thinned to 2 plants at 6 inch stations. Thing is I'm greedy so do I need to thin down to only 1 plant ? .
Meanwhile I weeded all the beds this afternoon ive had very few weeds so far, which as it's pure homemade compost about 10inch deep makes me think my hot bins are doing a good job at killing most things. Mind it's very early days and the weeds could just be lurking around the corner. Sowed salad mix in a large tub about 2ft round, this kept us going nearly all of last year with just picking leaves and I can move it to a shady spot when it gets hotter. Pricked out some basil
@Wilderbeast , personally I would thin out but not just yet , it will be interesting to see what other think ?
Allotment this morning , moved a water cube that has sunk down a bit , so put a new base down & o/h stained 2 pallets , not put it back yet as we are going to try and clean it out , it was full of an evil smelling brown gunge Picked some more asparagus and Rhubard , as ever a few more little jobs done
@GWRS I'm thinking only 1 parsnip per station which is what everyone keeps saying. I do hate thinning plants after all the effort of getting them going, I also managed to get every parsnip seed to grow which after all the talk of difficult germination I was proper happy with. They have proper strong leaves now and growing away lovely, I feel like a new dad all over again 🤣🤣

That’s definitely a good philosophy! 😉
To some extent I agree but there are many things that I can ‘afford’ to lose (financially) but would cause great inconvenience on the day should I turn up with a task in mind but only to find the tool I need for it is gone. Happened to me few times : my fork and wheelbarrow were stolen - I had planned to do a lot of digging that weekend and ended up having to make a detour to a local b n q to buy new ones. Didn’t hurt my pocket per se but a bloody annoyance..
