I just looked at a picture of my bed from a year ago, now I realise just how far behind the season is!

We were saying the same at the  Allotment,  just this morning.  I am still trying to dig some parts where it was dry and rock hard in April.  My spuds are not showing yet.

Agree everything is late , popped up to allotment yesterday afternoon after one of the heaviest downpours I can remember
Noticed first early potatoes are just showing so hoed them up
Broad Beans are growing particularly well

My rubarb is awarding stuff.  It's romping away. The stems must be an inch thick .

I have 5 rows of parsnips coming on really well, rows are 12" apart and plants 6-8 " apart, I've thinned out to 2 plants to a station and hoping they'll be ok. Sowed courgette and borlotti beans (no idea where the beans are going 🤪). My beetroot look awful grown as multisown they haven't done at all despite loads of protection with polycarbinate. Weeded this morning loads of bitter cress coming up and sycamore seedlings. I have my tomatoes in the greenhouse now it's double fleece over them at night, they're still in pots and no rush to plant out yet.

Was forecast a full day of rain but it held off until an hour ago, so managed a morning and afternoon at the plot.

Cleared a bit more and re-planted strawberries.

I had to move some verbena b plants that we're in the way. Dug a fairly small planting hole and this is all the bindweed and horsetail that came out!

    One small hole!

Rain on and off all day here but managed to get to the Allotment after lunch.  Planted some replacement Raspberries for the ones that didn't grow.  Set up the self watering pots in the greenhouse ready for the tomatoes,  I have put 2 long sweet peppers in , mine didn't germinate but a plot neighbor gave me them.

I will have to get some better irrigation drip tube for my greenhouse I already have the timer which I'm happy with and works off a barrel but does anyone know where I can purchase a mini drip tube which works reliably from?
