I always go through my pots on a big tray in the GH and collect them up, with a pair of tweezers then tip the potful on the ground for the birds, nothing wasted here 😀
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Trouble is, it could be a stag beetle....which are lovely things worth looking after. If there are lots of them with brown heads and no legs then off to the birds with them...but if only one or two with no brown head and legs they get popped next to the compost bin.
So far I’ve found five, 3 brown headed, two with legs...on the bird table. I found them in a patio clay pot, not in my flower beds. I normally use nematodes to prevent slugs, so I’d better buy some for vine weevil and do ALL the pots. Funny how the other geranium that’s potted is growing really well. I thought the frost had gotten to it...Again thank you SO much, I knew the GW gang would help me out. ❤️😊
