Fungi on tree

Hi, I've recently moved into a property that has a beautiful tree, I think it's a Crack Willow. Unfortunately it has fungi up it's trunk and I don't know if I should be concerned or do anything about it. Any advice welcome. Also, does anyone have a rough estimate how much I might have to pay to get the tree pruned?

Not sure what it is cos I can’t see the leaves clearly enough, but they are clear enough for me to know that it’s not a Crack Willow.
But thats irrelevent ‘cos whatever it is it’s ‘right poorly’. Few fungi attack healthy tissue ... they take up residence in wood that is already rotting.

I dont think that tree can be saved. Im sorry 😢

I think you should get a qualified and insured arborist/tree surgeon to inspect the tree and advise a course of action and give you a firm quotation for the work.

Looking on he laptop rather than my phone I agree with you @pansyface ... it’s a Cherry laurel.

Thanks both, Its not the news I was after however if it is a laurel there appears to be hope. After your advice I've got the number of a recommended tree surgeon. Will call them next week. Thanks again
