Advice Please.

Decided to try and turn the compost heap just now, in doing so I found either a rat or mouse nest not sure which. How can I deter them from nesting in the compost heap? I'ts one of those tallish plastic type bins and sits on soil. I never add cooked food, meat or dairy to it.

Keep turning it and keep it damp.

Disturbing it is about the only way, I'm afraid.

Thanks Dovefromabove and Posy, I thought that might be the case. I've got one of those four pronged things you twist that I can use to to do it with. I'll just have to do it every day till the know their not welcome. Thanks again both.

Also give it a knock every time you walk past - any kind of disturbance will help move them on.

Thanks, BobTheGardener will do. Think they might have also been in my Blueberry posts as they all have been dug about in and it can't be birds as all fruit is under netting. Thanks again.
