If the plants were growing tomato trusses I wouldn't be concerned but mine are only about 15cm tall at the moment so I wouldn't be feeding them with fertiliser at the moment, how tall are your plants?

About the same size, so i probably dont need it yet.  I'm very new to this.

    Appreciate your reply

I wouldn't feed them until they are in their final position and growing away strongly.

It's usual to wait for the first truss to begin setting before you start feeding Tomorite to promote fruiting. At the moment your plant is mainly concerned with growing roots and a stem etc. The tomatoes come a bit later so they don't need Tomorite at the moment.

If it was diluted and you splashed the leaves they will still absorb it - it's foliar feeding and will do no harm, but no need to feed yet as BI says above.

splashing it on leaves is fine aslong as it gets washed off. If you do overfeed your plant and you notice yellowing and brown spots then you should flush the soil with lots of water to rinse the nutrients out but as long as you followed the instruction on the label for seedlings and then divided that number by 3 (since manufacturers want you to use 3 times as much so you buy 3 times as much off them so they 'recommend' the amount that will be just shy of killing your plant)

plants need very little nutrients, feed when fruits start forming since that is when they need it or if lower leaves start yellowing.

@mrtjforman If you have any evidence from scientific or other reputable sources to back that up, then I would be very interested to read it.
