Acer advice please

I’ve had my Acer for 2 years, this is its 2nd spring and it’s always been great.  But in the last week it’s been wilting in part. What could be causing this? It’s not changed position or place in the garden. I’ve keep the water moist and it has drainage holes in the bottom. Thanks

  • Is there any pests on it mine looked similar a few weeks ago and a closer look was covered in black fly
  • No, we’ve had a good look and there’s nothing on it

Although it looks like it's in a protected corner we have had a lot of cold winds in the last week. Some of the tender growth on several plants in my garden has suffered, it could just be that. Keep a close eye on it & see if there is any more die back, hopefully not.

Thank you. Should i cut back any shrivelled branches, or leave it alone?
