Screening Tree?
Hi all,
First post but I've been avidly reading all the threads and am awed by the amount of knowledge - I will no doubt be back with lots of other questions as I'm a keen, if somewhat amateur, gardener!
Below is a picture of the view from my bedroom window to the side of the house. There used to be some fairly nasty leylandii which we got rid of to make space for a shed and to generally tidy up the side of the house. It is a berberis growing up the telegraph pole and a laburnum (within our boundary) that you can see to the left of the photo.
I'm thinking of putting in a Skyrocket Juniper tree either just behind or just in front of the wire coming off the telegraph pole to screen us fro the window and door (which you can just see). It is a commercial property with staff coming and going hence why I'd like a bit more privacy. The privet hedge is pretty high, so it's not an issue on the ground - just from the bedroom.
Do you think the space is to narrow for a Juniper? I've had all sorts of other ideas, like a pleached hornbean or a silver birch but I'm worried they may get too big and wide. It is north facing so it won't be blocking any light but I don't want it to completely overpower the space.
Any thoughts much appreciated!
