Attractive Pond Cover
Hi all,
I have a small (5ft by 3ft) pond with some goldfish in it. It's uncovered at the moment. I've noticed that since spring has sprung the fish are tending to keep hidden around the marginal plants, they will come out but only to feed and then they go back again. I am wondering if a heron may have spooked them.
Covering the pond with 'normal' netting is not all that practical as I have a lot of marginals, plus quite a high fountain in the form of an overflowing urn in the middle of the pond. Plus, I generally find pond netting to look horrid. I am wondering if there is another eye-pleasing method to protect you could recommend? It's a formal pond with slabs around the edge.
I'm also only assuming a heron, I haven't seen one. Might there be another reason my fish are hiding and inactive? Is it too cold still for them?
Many thanks for any suggestions!
