Do people agree with me that these are Spanish?

    Sadly yes they are Spanish - the English type have flowers all one side of a drooping stem, rather than a spike.

    The ones in the bottom pic have some characteristics of the English type but they could be hybrids. I've just found out all the ones we were given by my FIL seem to be Spanish ir hybrids. Shame as they were settling in well. I'm more irritated about the time wasted in planting them.
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
