Stuck on identifying this - please assist me.

A large shrub/small tree in my garden. It is evergreen. The leaves are smooth, leathery and sage green with a silver/grey underside. Habit as shown in pic and these little ‘berries’ in April/May.

    If it did, I missed them. It’s tucked behind my pond so might not have noticed.

    Superb!! Thank you - that is it! 

    You got it in the time it took me to nip out and look for any sign of flowers, as OH said there were little ones. 
    This is must be the ‘inbetween’ stage of flower to berry:

    It's supposed to have a beautiful perfume from the hidden tiny flowers in the autumn which stops people in its tracks. I planted one 3/4 years ago in the school garden I look after but haven't noticed it yet!

    Flowers are not very noticeable.

    I will look out for the flowers in Autumn - with eyes and nose.
