Cucumber plant - advice please.

When potting on cucumber plants, do you drop them in deep as you would tomato plants, or leave the level?

    Hi @lyn I don't bury mine as I believe the crown can rot, so I plant at the same level.

    Yes level and also when watering always water away from stem as it will rot

    I had visions of an emergency in the operating theatre.

    When they are ready to go in big pots/in the ground, Lyn, if you plant them on a little mound with a well around for watering, that helps to stop crown rot and lift the lower leaves/fruit off the ground. At least thats what I have always done with ordinary cucumbers and courgettes...

    It was! you know when you want to do something...now, that’s how it was.

    Thank you for that tip Nollie, I don’t grow much veg , I’m a fruit and flower person, thought I’d have a go, seem to remember growing them a few ago but so used to tomatoes, just couldn’t think.

    Hypothetically, if someone buried their cucumber seedlings a little deeper when potting them on, is there anything that can be done to rescue them from getting crown rot? Hypothetically of course.
