Tulips have stopped growing

I went away over the bank holiday and when I left my potted tulips were growing nicely. Each one had a flower bloom growing but still small and closed. When I returned 4 days later one bloom had reached full height and bloomed and the rest were still small and some leaves were turning yellow. I have given them food and lots of water this week as the weather was so hot but the flowers seem to have stopped growing and some have dried up and fallen off! Is there anything I can do or has the sudden hot weather and lack of water when I was away stopped me from having blooming tulips this year?

Not an expert on tulips, but mine usually lose the flowers more so with wind and rain.
  • Exactly the same problem with mine, they look like they have died before opening. Guessing they're not used to such high temperatures. Maybe I should have moved them to the shade😐

Tulips like a good baking is what I've read so that doesn't sound right.
