This is a low growing perennial with heart shaped / kidney shaped leaves, growing in a shady moist area.  No flowers are obvious but any help would be appreciated.  The leaves measure approximately 10cm widthways.

    One of the Petasites?
If so the flowers appear very early in the spring, before the leaves emerge. One of my favourite signs of spring 😊

Thanks for your prompt reply!  The leaves certainly look very similar but, by now, we will have missed the flowers.  Is 10 to 15 cm leaf width about right for this species?  Any further comments appreciated.

Some varieties have much bigger leaves so it depends which you have.
