Is this a flat worm?

Hi,
I found 2 of these "worms" which had a reddy brown top and pale pink underneath. In cross section the top is rounded while the underneath is flat. Approximately 60mm in length and 5mm across. They were lurking under some garden membrane that I'd removed that had been in place for a number of years. The soil hadn't been dug since the membrane had been put down. I've seen an item about New Zealand flat worms on this forum but these worms are different in colour and smaller.
What are they? Are they harmful to the garden? How do I control them if need be?

That looks like an Australian Flatworm - I wouldn't worry about it, just put it back and leave it to it.
