Any way of telling which potato variety I'm growing?

C3kC3k Posts: 130
Hi all
My boys came home from gardening club with 3 seed potatoes each, around first week in Feb. Told to chit and plant out 4 weeks later, which we did. So I'd guess they are 'earlies', but is there any way of telling by the look or timing of growth or anything?

Thanks

Get them to ask at Gardening club what variety are they. No other way to tell.

I guess I thought it mattered to the harvest time of each variety, not to worry

It is impossible to tell, but once they have flowered they should be ready to harvest, just need to do a bit of exploratory poking at that stage...

It doesn't matter whether earlies or lates if they are for the dinner table wait until the flowers die back lift and cook.
