Thanks for the warning, @Dee73 - and please post here if you find out what it was your OH used on the lawn.  Hope your hands soon improve!

Could you have been working with some skin irritating plants?

Iamweedy I've only been in the veg garden for the past three weeks need to catch up in the flower border when hand have healed so it has to be the grass. I move the parts of the lawn I cut off to enlarge the veg patch and put the lawn cuttings in the bin that's why I feel it's what he put on the lawn. It wont happen again he said he wont be doing anything to the lawn it's up to me and I wont use chemicals of any kind. More time for his golf lol.

You still don't know what product he used @Dee73 ? I am just wondering what would cause such a  painful reaction.

AnniD OH just said it's the same as he used last time, I can't press him as he has a very short fuse. It has to be whatever he has used as I never use anything in the garden apart from BFB, Epsom salts and chicken pellet and when I use them I wear disposable gloves which go into the outside bin after use. I don't like the idea of the stuff in the garage having no labels and told him so, so now he has got rid of everything which is good. I now do the whole garden along with everything in the house which is a pain but at least I know there are no chemicals used in the garden, I don't like them because of the wild life, I'm worried about Mr & Mrs Spike (the two hedgehogs) but they have been around again tonight. If I need a weed killed I mix up salt, vinegar, washing up liquid and water seems to work on most things. I know he used weed, feed and moss killer in the past but which one I don't know also he would leave it after cutting and put something on then but what I don't know. Well what is done is done I can't turn the clock back. Might not be on here for a few days as it takes ages to type a reply.

I find golf is very useful for getting things done that OH's don't need to know about or try to "help" with.  Next time he's out there gather all the chemicals from the shed and take them to the recycling centre for disposal. Wear gloves to carry and pack them in the boot to keep you safe.

Then raise the height of the blades on the mower.  Even just one notch will make the grass roots that much healthier over the season and better able to fight off competition from weeds and moss and rampant OH's doing what they shouldn't.

Morning all, Pleased to say hand are fell a lot better. Where the blisters were is looking much better as the water that was in them seems to have gone and hands feeling a lot less sore and I can use my hands again with care. I did manage to put food out for the Hedgehogs.

Obelixx OH plays golf but not as often as I would like, I don't have any idea where he is at the moment but he's not under my feet. Son went through the garage and found more stuff which went to the tip. It looks like he might have been using his own home made mix, if there is such a thing but can't be sure on that so many bottles. All that's in there now this for cleaning car's and paint. He's had the hump since this happened and so he should. Do you know how long it will be before I can say I grow organically. I have know idea what was used on the lawn, lets say worst case scenario.

AnniD, I saw your message but it was late. Thank you for your kind works.

I think for commercial purposes it's 2 years of organic only growing before they can be certified.  You might find this of use
