Mexican Orange Blossom

Evening all,

Today the first two blossoms of my Choisya × dewitteana White Dazzler have opened up and I rather love the deeply warm jasmine like fragrance. Has anyone else grown this variety? Couldn't resist it at a garden centre a few weeks back...absolutely no regrets.

    I don't have that variety but I do have Choisya ternata and Choisya × dewitteana 'Aztec Pearl' both of which have opened up in the last couple of days.

    White Dazzler is a cross of Aztec Pearl...so pretty similar. Looking forward to it growing over the coming months and to many more flowers.

    I have Aztec Pearl - 3 for £9 from The Range last year and they've grown very well.

    Have to say The Range can be surprisingly handy for plants, they currently have some lovely Anouk French lavenders for under £3

    In terms of how they've grown, if I wanted to buy the same plant now I'd probably be paying £9 each at a GC. They were just like little twigs when I got them! I don't think Aztec Pearl is quite as refined looking as White Dazzler but still pretty similar.

    I have a Choisya ternata that was a cutting i took of my next door neighbours a over 3 years ago. Its starting to take shape really nicely, some workers damaged it last year and snapped a branch but the branch was still attached so i was able to zip tie it and it has reattached.
