@Chicky, I love your SA meadow photos, and the stipa too - you've captured them perfectly
@AnniD, I bought a hardy maidenhead fern (Adiantum hispidulum) and a Dianthus 'Stargazer'. Oak-leaved hydrangeas are also very much on my list for purchase when I can find a space in which to put one!
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Thank you both for all the photos. I still don't like the heather garden tho. Never have. Maybe it's better in winter or spring.
Ditto, loved all the other bits, but I've never been a fan of heathers. Maybe because when I started in GCs in 1979 everyone was planting heathers/conifers?
Great pictures everyone. Another candidate for you to visit, Barnsdale in Rutland (Geoff Hamiltons garden in case anyone does not know. Just got back from there today lovely place can't believe we have never been before.
I have been to Barnsdale several times, it's almost like a pilgrimage. I could hear Geoff Hamilton's voice in my head quite a few times ! Merriments garden in Sussex is another favourite.
Great to meet you, @Big Blue Sky Hope you had as good a day as I did.
I had a great time! Thank you all for such a pleasant company - it was so nice to meet you all. A special thank you to @chicky for letting me use your umbrella ☔️ 😊 And yes, the plants were amazing, I now have a new wish list 😊 @LG_ the pictures are really great 😎
