Best handcream / treatment for gardeners' dry and cracked hands...

Your suggestions would be appreciated! Love gardening, don't love the rough and cracked hands...

    My wife swears by hemp handcream from The Body Shop.

    Janie B, thanks for asking this question I was going to ask as well. My hands are so sore and cracked after a long weekend in the garden.

    Wear gloves?
    Also mix  granulated sugar and cooking oil it's a good exfoliant for the rough bits. Wash it off and apply your cream of choice.

    K67, I have been sawing wood, pruning, digging, racking and moving slabs and laying the back down over Easter. I've been wearing leather gloves and using coco butter my hands are sore and splitting. I'll try you exfoliate and nikirachael8891 suggestion on the hand cream.

    If it’s that bad, I wonder if the cream for cracked heels might be worth a try @Dee73 .. think there are a few brands out there, maybe use a night treatment?

    The Hemp one is good, but I don’t care for the scent. 
    I have a beeswax, honey and essential oil cream at the moment (bought at a stall at RHS Cardiff) - it is wonderful. 
    Agree with the exfoliation idea. You can buy sugar and oil scrubs, which are good too. Try that, plenty of thick cream and using white cotton gloves to let it soak in for an hour or so.

    I recommend this.  Cheap as chips, not greasy, no perfume

    Thanks ladies for your suggestions. Just back from body shop with  Hemp hand cream, spoke to lady there she also suggested the sugar and oil rub before applying the cream. So after tea I'll start to use it for now I've put Vaseline on while I'm in the garden. If this doesn't work after a month I try your other recommendations. This thread was Janie B sorry Janie but hope you have seen the good advice everyone has kindly given.
