Honeysuckle

Native British honeysuckle for the past 3 years the leaves wither and curl starting off light brown and then go black .The flowers  produce berries but these then ho black and wither .I took some leaves to our garden centre and he said it was spider mite.We brought the spray that he recommended but it is as bad .It has been pruned and has been planted approximately 15 yrs

It could be so many things but one thing I can confirm is that that is most certainly not spider mite damage and the shop just thought he could unload whatever spray was not selling well at the time.
Spider mites are horrible things, size of fleas but they are visible, they are spiders and they spin webs.
