What's wrong with my pyracantha?

Planted two years ago, it was looking fabulous and growing strongly until I noticed it looking a bit sad last week. All the new growth is shrivelling up - leaves, flower buds, everything. Last season's growth appears unaffected. It is in rain shadow, on a north-facing wall, but it is watered once a week or so in dry weather. Nothing's changed in the environment, as far as I know. Any ideas?

If it's been growing strongly until last week, it could be weather related. Possibly one minute warm like the weather we have had in February, causing a mass of growth, and then the last few weeks, having much colder weather, especially at night. That can damage young growth. I would just wait to see how it grows over the next month or so.
