weed identification

can anyone tell me what weed this is i have kind of presumed it's a weed. should i be worried about it, looks like a nasty one. i've been here at the cottage 3 years and have never seen this... i've pulled it and destroyed but was curious to know what it was it grew vigorously. and tall.
