Ants nest

Hi everyone,
The pot that my Clematis was growing in has been taken over by ants. I’m pretty sure that they have killed the plant, but if not, is there a way of getting rid of the ants without destroying the plant?
Hope you can help.

  • Try sprinkling some cinnamon into the pot. Ants should leave and your pot will smell great.

    Ants hate damp/wet soil
and clematis need plenty of moisture. Maybe the pot has been too dry.
I’d repot as @pansyface described above, and keep the compost damper in future. 😊

  • Many thanks all. I will repot, keep the soil moist  and try the cinnamon as well. Hope you enjoy the sunshine!

Also, check if the pot is large enough for the plant.
  • Will do, thank you 😊
