Japanese Maple Acer

Can anyone provide any advice? I bought this established Acer last autumn and planted. Its leaved up however the leaves look like they've got wind scorch. Do any other Acer owners think that's all it is looking at the pictures above? I'm concerned its dying. Thanks in advance

    I'm no expert but I'd say that might beltr sun scorch than wind scorch. Mine tends to get brown patches from the wind but curly leaves like that look like sun and dehydration. Mines in a pot and needs a lot of watering in dry periods.

    Does the Acer sit in full sun?  If you haven’t seen the Acer during Summer yet, then it is possible that it’s position is too sunny for it - red Acers apparently have a reputation for scorching in the sun (although my one has always been ok). 
    My garden and I live in South Wales.

    Not full sun. It gets the sun around midday and then loses it about 6. We do have other acers in the garden too which haven't been affected

    make sure you give it extra water for this year, with it being new (and few roots) and surrounded by established shrubs they'll be taking the majority of the water in the ground.

    I soaked it this morning to make sure. Is it best to do this daily?

    I find that mine looks like that when the leaves first unfurl but also if it needs watering. Mines in a large pot though.
