Rhubarb

Can anyone advise why my rhubarb which I bought this year is growing nicely where as my dads he bought last year is continued to go to seed.

Rhubarb running to seed early is often a sign that the plant has been
stressed ... they need a lot of moisture in the soil. Last year’s drought will have been difficult for a new crown.  I would give it two buckets full of water every other day until we get a decent amount of rain.
Even then it may need additional water as the leaves act like an umbrella and a new plants roots will not have spread far enough to reach beyond the area covered by the leaves.

Just occasionally you get a plant that will not settle and keeps running to seed whatever you do. These are best replaced.

My dad had given me so much advice for 50 yrs so it’s nice to compete with our veg. He normally wins ha ha !! Obviously not with our rhubarb 😉
