No swifts here either, S. Norfolk. Used to have swallows at my old house in France for years, then they disappeared. Haven't seen either at my new house in France.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I can start opening the french doors on an evening to listen to them having fun! It's a shame you can't put short videos on here.

I just watched one fly around our garden and back into the distance. It did this around and around for about ten minutes.

Then it got a little bit closer to the roof and whoosh it went up into next door’s eves. Amazing.

Haven't seen one yet this year. Qur swallows are back and nesting in the garage as usual. Swifts and swallows and house martins fly over our big pond to drink and bathe.

We haven’t had swifts here in north bucks for years …….too much building going on plus the HS2 and the East West railway building .The government have totally raped Buckinghamshire,we’ve lost so much wildlife that will never return ,it makes me weep .Make the most of what you can see and celebrate it ,you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s taken from you .😒

Last Sunday morning I glimpsed a bird clinging onto a wall while inspecting the eves of next door's extension, I haven't seen it since. Maybe the bird was a house martin? I live in the Fens.

    No Cuckoo's yet though.

Goodness, where have all the starlings come from?
Trying to be the person my dog thinks I am!
