Couch grass growing through rose

I have couch grass growing through a rose bush, has anyone tried the vinegar spray method? Would this harm the rose if I can manage to shield it when spraying?

Don’t think it’d do much damage through the bark of a rose ... bug I doubt it’d do much damage to the couch grass either. I’m afraid couch grass amongst shrubs and roses is a case of getting on your hands and knees and carefully hand-weeding it out. 🙄

Hand weeding means that every bit of root must be removed other wise it will regrow, shield any wanted plant leaves and spray with Glyphosate to eradicate it

If you’re going to use glyphosate, rather than spraying and risking the chemical getting onto other plants, get a half inch paint brush and paint some onto the leaves. That’ll do the job.
