Come on @Yviestevie, tell us more, please share. What varieties did you get and where from? I do love hardy geranium and am always nosy as to what others on here choose. I can add one perhaps to my wishlist. When I knew the lockdown was imminent I did buy some soil improver and compost, sadly not enough though. I also picked up a hosta Praying Hands and a thalictrum Black Stockings with a birthday gift voucher.
I’ve moved onto an obsession with seeds. Got hesperis, agastache, foxgloves, verbena bon and aquilegia on the way in the post. Need to find some more seed compost now
Thanks @Yviestevie, lots of new to me geranium to Google. I have seen Sylvias surprise in an open garden, very lovely indeed. Sweet honey is the rose of the year I think . I remember it reminded me of Chandos Beauty, gorgeous. The eye roses are very beautiful, I nearly bought an Eyes for You rose the last time I went to the garden centre but wanted to wait to see it in flower. Hopefully, when the lockdown is over I can treat myself to a couple of new things for the garden. I think the garden centres will be hoping we will all spend spend spend.
My weakness is plants on the nearly dead shelf. They call to me to save them as I walk past. I try to save them. I have had many that could not be saved and many that I have saved.
I've gone a bit mad with seeds this year, though didn't sow them until the end of March. I had some from a forum member via the seed swap thread. I have foxgloves, corncockle, astrantia, also a variegated honesty and sunflower from another. I went through my seed stash and found calendula, borage, cosmos, dahlia bishops children , catananche, gloriosa daisy and zinnia. I have divided perennials to fill gaps and searched the borders for self sown seedlings. I have too ran out of small pots so have been using mushroom trays and grape punnets to pot on into. I will just tip the whole thing out and cut between the plants with a knife and then plant them out. I'm sure they'll be fine.
My O/H is losing patience with window sills full of pots 😁. I’ve also got some indoor LED grow lights. Luckily there’s now enough light outside to germinate and grow on in my cold frame.
@1634 RacineI use windowledge propagators and grow lights, then transfer into a tiny 6' x 4' greenhouse (I use a heater just to keep it frost free) then harden off in a cold frame. Our conservatory is our dining room, but it just gets taken over by seedlings from Feb to April.
