ID of fast growing plant

loliloli Posts: 61
I got my garden beds altered slightly in height in February and extra soil added. This plant has appeared in one of the beds. It is very strong and fast growing - makes me think it’s a weed!! Though not a weed I’ve seen before in my garden. It has slightly furry leaves you can see the hairs when you look up close and the leaves have a shine to them. I’ve added my hand in shot to compare leaf size. Many thanks for your wisdom!

Yep! It’s a volunteer spud 👍 must’ve been in the compost.

    It's a Pieris.

I would wait for a more experienced confirmation @christian.robbo but my guess would be Pieris Japonica?
