Melted gooey frogspawn??

So I went to check on my frogspawn this morning and it was all goopy and cloudy and when i touched it, it was sticky and like some sort of weird slime, and the undeveloped tadpoles are just floating around inside. It can't be hatching because they are so new that they look like tiny black slugs. WHAT IS GOING ON??

    Ours looked like that shortly before the tadpoles hatched. Think the ones on the surface dried out in the sun but the ones underneath were fine and now we have loads of tadpoles sucking the colour out of the blanket weed.
