Hypericum Polyphyllum Advice

We have a Hypericum Polyphyllum (St John's Wort) that's been happily growing in our front garden for the last few years. However over the winter it appears to have developed a bit of a gap in the middle.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can get it looking nice again?

TIA

I think it’s simply down to the age of the plant. I would propagate new ones to replace it ... heeled cuttings or layering in a gritty compost should both work. 😊

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Thanks Dove, I'll give that a try. The plant isn't that old though (3-4 years) so if this is how others will look in s few years I might try a different plant!
