    I swear by these plants on sandy soil, low maintenance and months of colour/interest and good shape: Euphorbia Charachias Wulfenii (apologies for awful spelling)

    I never mind fiddly bits of grass I like the frame they give to the plants.  The back garden's the same, would drive some people bonkers.

     I have planted a lot of roses this autumn/winter, fingers crossed that they grow well. This is where I am jealous of all you folk with clayey soil!

    Thank you, believe it or not that Euphorbia self seeded itself there.
