Ours don’t get the chance to flower ... we eat every sprig ... four plants gave us 2/3 meals a week for 6/8 weeks. We used the last little sprigs for a stir fry the other day. Ours will be pulled out tomorrow and the bean poles will go there ready for the runners.  👍

Ditto @Dovefromabove and every mouthful was welcomed but being on my own I think three plants would have done for me. Now if I had a man to feed! I particularly like the little sprigs that come after you cut the tops out mmmmmm and as I don't have too many flowers I am happy for the insects to have their turn.

If I had more it’d get used up in fillings for quiches and pancakes to stock up the freezer. I need a bigger garden 🙄 🤣 and a bigger freezer now OH doesn’t work at the farm shop any more 😔

herbaceous and Dovefromabove Just been out and worked out what is going where and I think I might get three plants in as I love my veg. Put my bean poles in early this morning but not sown them yet waiting till the end of the month. Just put cabbage and beetroot seeds into modules and want to do the same with some radish, spring onion and sweetcorn. then I don't think there will be room for anything else :'(

Dovefromabove, We got rid of the big chest freezer and how I wish we hadn't. I also would love more space for the veg garden I have to grow a lot of fruit and veg in troughs and tubs. I keep taking bit's of the edge of OH lawn so far he's not noticed >:) Need to also sow some celeriac and Dill. I was a chef and still love to cook and my hands were soft but not any longer.

Chest freezers, gardens both the same @Dee73 - never big enough!

And that's my problem @Dovefromabove, no room for quiches just plain veg in bags so I can pack them in  :D

herbaceous, HO gave our big chest freezer away and all I have is a tall larder freezer and the fridge/freezer but your right never enough room in them or the garden. I do lots of preserves, pickles and oils just wish I had a proper walk in larder to store everything. Come harvest time I have two preserving pan's on the go I can't stand shop jam, chutneys or pickles.

I know just what you mean @Dee73 although I only have one preserving pan and I am no chef, that's for sure!  My OH erected two fitted wardrobes in the garage for me many years ago and they are as far as I get to a proper larder but eating your own sunshine fruit in mid-winter never gets old  :)

herbaceous, Now I never though of doing that. Might look on Gumtree and freecycle and see if I can find one or two, thanks for the idea. I am totally out of space in the house, cold frame and walk in greenhouse so I can't plant anymore seeds. I can't wait till I get the big greenhouse in a couple of months. You don't have to be chef to be a good cook, if you like what you make that is the main thing. Time for a very late lunch.
