Forgot to cut back ruby beauty raspberry plant

Hi everyone, 

So last year i brought two seperate ruby beauty raspberry patio plants. Now i know im supposed to cut back all the stems after finishing the crop, but i totally forgot to do it last year. 
Now they are both starting to grow i can see that they are sprouting from last years stems as well as.having a number of new shoots having grown. Please could someone help me in what i should do

    Cut the tops off of the old stems to just above the new shoots. You will get earlier fruit off of these. The new canes will grow and they will fruit later. This double cropping does mean that they need a good feed of general purpose fertiliser. (BFB or Growmore).Water well.

    With this type it's best to remove each fruited cane after harvest but leave any new non-fruiting canes, so I would cut out the old canes from last year now and the plant will put energy into the young canes.

    Thankyou bob, can i do anything with the stalks i cut off i.e replant them in any way

    You could try rooting them - take sections of removed cane about 8 to 10 inches long and put a few of them around the outside of a plant pot filled with a 50/50 mix of grit or perlite and multi-purpose compost.  Cut the bottom end of each cutting just below a leaf joint and just above a leaf joint at the top end.  With a bit of luck some of them will root and you'll have new plants.
