Help please! Are these suckers on my Prunus Amanogawa? I can't see any clear root stock and as you can see from the photo, a part of the low growing stem flowered.

The bark changes colour.
Would suggest you remove all low growing shoots /just rub them with your finger to remove.
Watch for suckers below graft and remove asap...they will probably be wild cherry and will be very vigorous.
Prunus amanogawa is a colomnar/upright tree.

I will remove everything and anything beneath that graft. Should I leave the shoot with the flower in the second picture since it's above the graft or remove it as well?
