Please could someone identify this plant, several of which have appeared in my rockery!

A good 10 of these have appeared, I am a Learner Gardener so I am afraid I have no idea! I have waited about 2 months for a flower to appear, thinking they might be irises but no flowers have materialised!

Also can you help identify what this is in one of my pots?

    Yes, irises I'd say. Possibly overcrowded which may be why they aren't flowering.

    The first are Sisyrinchium striatum, pale yellow flowers later in summer. 


    In the sticks near Peterborough

    Bearded irises which flower later ... not the spring flowering types.

    I'm going with sisyrinchium for no 1 and possibly alstromeria for no 2
    Devon.

    Thank you All, great to be able to tap into your knowledge, I am in awe!!! 

    Do you think I can move the sisyrinchium into a pot as they are quite dominant and the leaves are quite yellow and black and I would rather plant something else with more immediate colour as it is right in the middle of the rockery which I look out on to!

    Ah yes alstromeria would make sense as I think I had one in that pot last summer!  

    I have another couple of questions coming up, hope you do not mind!

    I'll say Sisyrinchium striatum too, especially as they are known for seeding themselves.

    Alstromeria sounds likely too.

    Id go Sisyrinchium striatum as well, they pop up allover, if you want to check if you tug one of the leaves they have almost no root system and almost grow on top of the soil

    Ah yes they came out very easily, thank you to you all. I may put them in a pot! Again thanks for solving a 2 month mystery!
