Hi, anybody able to help identify this fella, he was in one of the toys in the kids sandpit. Not moving much so not sure if he was about to undergo metaphorphise. Would like to keep him if so, but need to know his foodstuff if he's not ready

EDIT: sorry forgot to say he's only about 2.5cm long, and looks a bit hawkmothy to me

Does his head look a funny shape? Can't quite tell .
Sorry I think this is an Elephant Hawk moth caterpillar.

Thanks Ruby, but think Ive found him, a Lesser yellow underwing https://www.naturespot.org.uk/species/lesser-yellow-underwing. The Elephant hawkmoth caterpillars are huge things (when fully grown anyway), scared me to detah first time I found one of those!
